
Ball State Falls to Miami University

The Miami Redhawks defeated the Cardinals 5-0 in the series opener Saturday afternoon.
The loss takes Ball State's Mid-American Conference record to 6-7, while the Redhawks improve to 7-6.
Ball State had five errors on the day, which made the difference in what was a close match-up.
The game was scoreless through four innings as Miami scored the first two runs off a Ball State error.
Briana Burke doubled to left field and earned two RBI as the Redhawks went ahead 5-0, in the top of the seventh inning.
Allie Pennock went 2-for-2 for the Cardinals, and Taylor Yancey recorded her fourth triple of the year in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Elizabeth Milian threw a complete game for BSU. Milian only gave up two earned runs and struck out five Miami batters.
Ball State will get a rematch against the Redhawks tomorrow as the two teams are set to play at 1 p.m. at the BSU Softball Complex.
