
Notre Dame Shuts Out Cardinals

SOUTH BEND, Ind. ? The Ball State softball team dropped to 15-26 overall as they were defeated by the Fighting Irish 3-0.
The Cardinals were unable to record a hit during the game. Notre Dame used the pitching combo of Brittney Bargar and Kenya Fuemmeler to shut out the Cardinals.
Bargar pitched six innings and recorded seven strikeouts, while Fuemmeler finished the game for the Irish.
Bargar walked Kam Holle in the sixth inning. Holle was the first BSU batter to get on base. Katelyn Gunderson grounded into a fielder's choice as Holle was called out at second.
Alisha Etzler came in the game to pinch-run for Gunderson. Etzler stole second base, and then went on to steal third. However, Ball State was unable to score as they trailed 3-0
Elizabeth Milian was on the mound for Ball State. Milian threw a complete game and struck out three. Only one of Notre Dame's three runs were earned.
Ball State will return to action April 19 as they host Wright State in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
