
Cards Drop Two Games At Ohio

ATHENS, Ohio -- Ball State was defeated by Ohio 4-0 and 3-1 to start the Mid-American Conference schedule.
In game one, Ball State fell behind early as the Bobcats scored three runs in the second inning. The Cardinals had two opportunities to come back in the game having the bases loaded in the fourth inning, and again in the seventh. However, Ball State left 11 runners on base and were unable to score.
Allie Pennock went 3-for-4 to lead the Cardinals. Amber Wolf went 1-for-2 and Alisha Etzler went 1-for-3 and also stole a base.
Elizabeth Milian drops to 6-7 on the year. Milian went six innings and allowed six hits.
Game two for the Cardinals started much like game one. The Bobcats put up three runs in the first inning off back-to-back doubles.
The Cardinals responded by scoring a run in the second inning as Amanda Pick doubled to centerfield to score Abby Gross. Pick falls to 2-9 on the season. Pick game up to earned runs and stuck out five batters.
Ball State will travel to Akron, Ohio to play the Zips on Saturday March 31 at 2 p.m.
