
Softball Falls To North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Ball State Softball team will travel to Tampa, Fla. to compete in the Speedline Tournament after playing in back to back doubleheaders in Jacksonville.
Ball State dropped both games against North Florida 3-1 and 6-2. Leading the way for the Cardinals in the first game was junior Abby Gross. Gross went 2-for-2 with two singles. Taylor Yancey went 1-for-3 and scored the teams only run.
On the mound, Elizabeth Milian threw a complete game. Milian gave up six hits and recorded one strikeout. Milian is now 3-3 overall this season.
In game two freshmen Amber Wolf went 2-for-3 and had one RBI. Gross and Milian each went 1-for-3 and scored a run.
Amanda Pick was on the mound for the Cardinals in game two. Pick threw a complete game allowing eight hits and struck out four batters.
Milian and Alisha Etzler each had a steal in game two to take the team's total to 56. BSU has stolen 40 more bases than last season and are only 42 shy of the single-season team record.
Ball State returns to action March 16, for the Speedline Tournament where they will face Wisconsin at 3:00 p.m.
