Women's Golf Climbs To Eighth At UNCG Classic

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Ball State women's golf team posted the third-lowest team score Tuesday with a 296 to climb three spots and finish eighth at the UNC-Greensboro Starmount Fall Classic.
Ball State, who opened the 36-hole event with a team score of 319, lowered its score to 296 Tuesday behind a pair of 73s from Brittany Kelly and Paige Esford.
"We played really well today," said BSU head coach Katherine Mowat. "Today was much, much better. We came to play and I think our results showed. Brittany and Paige put up solid scores today to help us move up in the field."
Kelly tied for 29th overall (79-73), while Amy Roberts (76-78) tied for 32nd.
Esford (83-73) and Kirsty O'Connor (81-75) tied for 36th, while Rachael Pruett (86-75) finished tied for 52nd.
East Carolina won the 11-team tournament at 583, while UNC-Greensboro was second at 591.
