Swimming & Diving Opens Season at Dennis Stark Relays at Notre Dame

In the 200 yard free Michelle Huang finished first in her heat with a time of 1:41.10.
The men's side was highlighted by Ball State's Mark Augustyn in the mixed 200 free with a second place overall finish with a time of 1:32.11. The relay of Ben Battjes, Eric Gellinger, Eric Mattingly and Jacob Morris captured third in the 200 free relay after compiling a team best 1:29.68.
In the 400 yard medley relay the women shined after a second place stance with the team of Addison Del Rio, Katie Jasmon, Erin Johnson and Brittany Saylor. The women also captured third place in the 800 yard relay which consisted of Mary Ehresman, Michelle Huang, Kelly Johnson and Sarah Kehe. Augustyn, Jason Blosser, Kyle Hembree and Ben Karwoski garnered third place in the 800 free relay.
The men's and women's team also earned second place finishes in the 400 relay. Austin Laska, Zach Lovett, Jeff Sudbury and Danny Tracy earned a top finish in the mixed 300 yard freestyle relay with a top time of 2:30.48. BSU also earned third in the 400 yard breaststroke relay and in the men's 1000 yard freestyle relay along with second in the mixed 400 yard freestyle relay.
Ball State diving faired well with Boyle Paul for the women scoring a 458.55. Lin Whitaker compiled a 461.60 for the BSU men. BSU swimming & diving continue action at Eastern Illinois on Oct. 13.
