“Being a Cardinal means getting a chance to represent your college with your teammates/best friends. Not everyone gets to have an opportunity like this, so I make sure to make the most of every moment and enjoy my short time here.”
Aaron (Chooky) Hernandez is the son of Henry and Michelle Hernandez. Aaron has six siblings, brothers Luke and Caleb, and sisters Mallory, Margo, Marina, and Helmina. Aaron is majoring in Spanish Education.
Started playing volleyball: 8th grade
Favorite Volleyball memory: Winning a state championship my senior year of high school with my best friends
Favorite trip you’ve been on/what is one place you dream of visiting: My favorite trip that I’ve ever been on was a cruise to Mexico, Honduras, and Belize. One place that I dream of visiting is Fiji
Favorite food: Banana Bread
Dream job: Famous actor
Plans after college: Move somewhere warm and get a teaching job
What sport would you be playing if you were not playing volleyball: Crossfit
2025: Saw no action ... earned Academic All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors.
2024: Started in 6-of-14 matches played ... averaged 2.14 kills per set, hitting a .291 clip ... tallied a career high of 12 kills against both UC San Diego (Jan. 11) and Lewis (Mar. 30) ... averaged .57 blocks and 2.61 points per set ... achieved a career high of 4 aces against Thomas More (Jan. 3)... earned Academic All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors.
2023: Played three sets for the Cardinals…had one service ace…recorded three kills and two digs ... earned Academic All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors.
2022: Played in two matches for the Cardinals … made first collegiate appearance against Maryville (1/13/22) where he had three kills … also made an appearance against Lewis (4/20/22) … helped the Cardinals win the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) regular season and tournament titles along with an automatic bye to the 2022 NCAA semifinal round ... earned Academic All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors.
High School: Played in a total of 75 sets for the Fishers Tigers ... averaged 5.9 sets per game, collected 446 assists, 29 aces, 136 digs and 36 kills over his high school career ... helped Fishers High School to a Regional Championship in 2018 ... started playing volleyball in 8th grade…two-time state champion in Indiana…earned MVP of state tournament in 2021.
