BALL STATE CAREER NOTES ENTERING 2024 SEASON
• Played in 109 of a possible 161 games over her Ball State career, earning 49 starts, with 29 coming in center field, 15 in right field, four in left field and one as the designated player.
• 2022 & 2023 Academic All-MAC
• Has scored three game-winning runs over her career
2023 (Jr.): Earned third letter at Ball State … Academic All-MAC … played in 33 games, earning 25 starts in the outfield … made 12 starts in right field, nine in center field and four in left field … credited with nine hits over 51 at bats for a .176 average … also drew nine walks and was hit by a pitch once for a .306 on base percentage … first hit of the season came in the team’s opener at UAB (Feb. 18) … turned in one of her best offensive outings of the season in the 3-1 win over Stetson (March 5), opening her day with a sac fly for her first RBI of the season … added a fourth-inning double, just the second double of her career, and added a seventh inning single … also drew a sixth-inning walk which eventually allowed her to score what proved to be the game-winning run … her only other RBI of the season came in the MAC Tournament versus Miami (May 11) … scored two runs in the 8-0 (5) win over Bowling Green (April 22) and in the 10-0 (5) victory over Miami (April 26) … finished the season with nine runs scored … stole three bases on the year … tallied 22 putouts and a pair of outfield assists, while finishing the season with a .960 fielding percentage.
2022 (So.): Earned second letter at Ball State … Academic All-MAC ... played in 37 games, earning 22 starts … made 18 starts in center field, three in right field and one as the designated player … registered a .241 batting average with 13 hits in 54 at bats … smashed her first career double and earned her first career multiple hit game with a 2-for-3 effort at NIU (April 6) … was also hit by a pitch and scored two runs in the contest … went a perfect 3-for-3 in the second game of the May 4 doubleheader at Miami, while also stealing her third base of the season … registered at least one hit in 10 games … tallied her only RBI of the season with a squeeze bunt single at Southern Illinois (March 4) … drew four walks and was hit by a pitch once for a .305 on base percentage … tallied 21 putouts and a pair of outfield assists on defense.
2021 (Fr.): Earned first letter at Ball State … played in 39 games, earning two starts in center field … saw action mainly as a pinch runner or defensive substitution … boasted a .308 batting average with four hits in 13 at bats … also scored 14 runs and tallied a pair of RBI … scored her first career run after entering the game as a pinch runner at No. 18 Mississippi State … registered her first collegiate hit with a sixth-inning single versus Alcorn State (March 6), then proceeded to record her first collegiate stolen bases … had an even more impressive outing the next day versus Alcorn State (March 7), going 1-for-2 with her first career RBI, two runs scored and a pair of stolen bases … scored her first to two game-winning runs in a pinch running outing versus Bowling Green (March 27, Game 1) … picked up her third collegiate hit, and second career RBI, in the series opener at Central Michigan (April 2) … scored the winning run in another pinch running effort versus Ohio (April 23, Game 1) … went 1-for-2 with a run scored in her first career start at NIU (May 4, Game 1) … finished the season 6-for-8 in stolen base attempts … credited with six putouts on defense.
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year team captain at St. Joseph Ogden … as a junior she played and started all 32 games, batting .545 with 61 hits, 13 home runs and 50 RBIs ... helped guide the team to a 22-10 record her junior year ... named First Team All-State, won Most Valuable Player and earned her third consecutive Golden Glove at the conclusion of her junior season … under her leadership, the Spartans were Regional Champions her junior season, Sectional Champions her sophomore season and State Runners-up her freshman season in which she was voted Rookie of the Year … Dukeman also holds the program records for most RBIs in a game, most grand slams in a season and most doubles in a game.
CLUB: Dukeman has played for Premier Fastpitch for three seasons … her team placed 9th in the Premier Girls Fastpitch tournament in Huntington Beach, California.
WHY BALL STATE: I chose Ball State because it is the perfect size with a good academic program for me and not too far from home. Also, the environment that the softball team has is awesome. I feel like a part of a big family and I love it!
PERSONAL: Daughter of Heather and Christopher Dukeman … one sister (Hailey) … father played baseball at Parkland College … currently pursuing a major in the medical field.
