Emma Kumar joined the Cardinals in 2021 and currently serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Revenue Generation and Senior Woman Administrator. In her current role, she leads strategy and execution across marketing, ticketing, multimedia rights (MMR), and select fundraising initiatives.
Kumar serves as the Senior Woman Administrator and sits on the Director of Athletics executive staff.
Early in her role at Ball State, Kumar focused on laying a strong fundraising foundation, working across campus and with coaches and staff to generate $17M+ in philanthropic support and establish major gift pipelines for flagship initiatives, including the $8M Championship Performance Center and $8M Baseball/Softball Project. Her efforts contributed to Ball State achieving its most successful fundraising years ever in FY22, FY23, and FY24.
In her current role, she oversees marketing, ticketing, MMR, and various fundraising initiatives. She serves as the sport administrator for women's basketball, soccer, track and field, and cross country. Her work engages campus stakeholders across various areas including marketing and communications, business and auxiliary services, the Office of the President, trademarks and licensing, student affairs, and the Foundation.
Before joining Ball State, Kumar advanced fundraising efforts at Tulane University Athletics, where she developed and executed major gift fundraising strategies, expanded donor bases, and drove significant growth through targeted campaigns. Her career began with fundraising roles at Athletes Committed to Educating Students (ACES) and the University of Minnesota's Golden Gopher Fund.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science & Biomedical Studies from St. Olaf College where she competed collegiately in soccer and track & field.
Kumar serves as the Senior Woman Administrator and sits on the Director of Athletics executive staff.
