Mateusz (Mati) is the son of Shaul Pawlo and Chana Anna Karpow. A native of Poland, Mati is studying management and leadership.
Started playing volleyball: 6th grade
Favorite Volleyball memory: Playing in my first club game in Israel!
Favorite trip you’ve been on/what is one place you dream of visiting: Favorite place I have been so far is Israel, the country is special to me and I intend to go back there one day. One place I dream of visiting is the Grand Canyon
Favorite food: Apple filled pancakes
Dream job: Pro volleyball player
Plans after college: Play professionally, then pursue a career in business management
What sport would you be playing if you were not playing volleyball: Probably swim as that was my main sport prior to volleyball
2025: Appeared in four sets … completed one ace and dig versus Lees-McRae (Jan.23) … earned Academic All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors.
2024: Played in 11-of-31 matches ... achieved first career ace against Wabash (Jan. 2) ... earned Academic All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors.
High School/Club: Prior to Ball State, Mati played club volleyball in Israel for four years.
