Lucas is the son of Marcio Machado and Juliana Lamb. A native of Brazil, Lucas has one sibling, sister Lara. Lucas is studying Sports Administration.
Started playing volleyball: At age 4 with family. Soon made the school team and never stopped playing
Favorite Volleyball memory: During school season, I played in a tournament (Onase) with my cousin. I was the youngest player there and had such a great experience
Favorite trip you’ve been on/what is one place you dream of visiting: Visited Bolivia with my family to see my uncle, who is a goalkeeper coach for a soccer club. I really want to go to Italy, it always has been my dream to visit
Favorite food: Churrasco (Brazilian Steak)

2026: Appeared in 103 sets through 31 matches played, including 30 starts … guided the Cardinals’ offense to a program record .377 hitting percentage as he totaled 1,025 assists … moved up to no. 8 in the program’s record book for career assists (2,548) … tallied 25 assists or more on 25 occasions and 40 or more on nine … his average of 9.96 assists per set ranked fourth in the MIVA and 10th in the NCAA … matched his career-best 54 assists in a four-set win over Missouri S&T (Jan. 9) … awarded MIVA Defensive Player of the Week (Feb. 3), totaling nine digs and six blocks in sweeps versus UMES (Jan. 30) and George Mason (Jan. 31) … named American Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Week (Feb. 17) after averaging 10.12 assists per set (81 total) and guiding Ball State to a .406 clip in wins versus McKendree (Feb. 12) and Lindenwood (Feb. 13) … finished his junior campaign with 95 kills (0.92 per set) on 175 attempts (.440), 25 service aces (0.24 per set), 143 digs (1.39. per set) and 75 blocks (0.73 per set) … earned Second Team American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American … named First Team All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association … selected to the 2026 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association All-Tournament Team … earned Academic All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors.
2025: Started 20-of-26 matches played … led the Cardinals with 771 total assists as he averaged 8.38 per set … recorded a career-high 54 assists in a single game against Purdue Fort Wayne (Feb. 6) … captured 40 or more assists in a single game on seven occasions … completed 117 digs, averaging 1.27 per set … captured a season-high 11 digs against Maryville (MO) (Jan. 24) … tallied 49 total blocks, including 42 blocks assisted and seven blocks solo … completed 38 total kills, earning a season-high four in a single game against Quincy (March 28) … compiled 22 serving aces … earned Academic All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors … selected to the 2025 Brazilian U26 National Team.
2024: Started in 24-of-24 matches played ... recorded a .304 hitting percentage ... recorded 812 assists with an average of 9.44 assists per set, the fifth best record in the MIVA ... tallied 51 assists for a single game best against both, Purdue Fort Wayne (Mar. 23) and Lewis (Mar. 30) ... also recorded a career-high of 15 digs against Purdue Fort Wayne (Mar. 23) ... recorded 140 digs with a 1.63 digs per set average, the tenth best in the MIVA ... ranks 19th in the MIVA for blocks with an average of .59 blocks per set, 41 block assists and 10 solo blocks ... tallied a career-high of 6 blocks in a single game against Queens (Mar. 3), with 2 block solos and 4 block assists ... earned Off The Block Freshman All-American Honors ... named Honorable Mention on the AVCA All-American Team ... earned All-MIVA Second Team honors.
High School/Club: Prior to Ball State, Lucas played at Minas Tenis Clube in Mines Gereis, Brazil. Additionally, Lucas was a three-time state champion at Onase, his high school.
