Ball State Daily News (Aug. 6, 2024): New faces join the Ball State football defense
BEFORE BALL STATE: A reserve safety for the Cincinnati Bearcats who appeared in three games during the 2023 season … spent four seasons (2019-2022) with the BYU Cougars … with a total of 44 tackles, 6 TFLs, and 3 sacks … in 2020, tallied a season-high five tackles (four solo, one assist) in a 41-10 win over Western Kentucky.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-star recruit on 247Sports and ESPN … named 2019 athlete of the year at Berean Christian … named defensive player of the year … first-team-all-league linebacker … a presidential scholar-athlete honoree … coached by former NFL fullback James Hodgins … as a senior, posted 137 tackles, 17 sacks and 14 TFLSs in 10 games … ran track, recording a 10.9 in the 100m and high jumped 6’4”.
PERSONAL: Son of Christiana Etukudo … has four siblings … hobbies include, bowling and piano … a favorite athlete is current Los Angeles Chargers safety, Derwin James … a favorite movie is “Harry Potter”.
