2016: Earned third letter at Ball State ... named All-MIVA Second Team ... earned MIVA Offensive Player of the Week honors on two occasions, including March 22 after tallying 35 kills in a pair of Ball State victories, as well as on April 5, when he marked 25 kills in two Cardinal sweeps ... led the Cardinals with a career-high total of 253 kills for a 3.09 kills per set average ... got under 100 digs for a 1.22 digs per set average ... en route to earning 65 total blocks, Surane marked nine blocks against Mount Olive on March 13 in a 3-1 win ... marked a season-high of four service aces in the Feb. 18 3-2 victory over then-No. 14 Lewis ... held a season-high of 22 kills against then-No. 13 UC Irvine on March 20.
2015: Earned second letter at Ball State ... Academic All-MIVA team member ... registered a team-high of 30 aces throughout the season, including a match-high of six aces in the 3-2 win over then-No. 10 Penn State ... the six ace match ranks Surane second in Ball State all-time rally scoring records in a five-set match ... tallied at least one ace in 19 of 29 regular season matches ... earned a total of 166 kills, averaging 1.66 kills per set, with a .418 hitting percentage ... held the second most total blocks on the Ball State roster, totaling 83 total blocks and 0.83 blocks per set ... was the only player for Ball State to make an appearance in all 100 sets in the season.
2014: Earned his first letter at Ball State ... named Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. YOUTH NATIONAL TEAM: Played for the USA Boys' Youth National team that won a bronze medal in the NORCECA U-19 Tournament in Tijuana, Mexico in 2012 ... played on the Boys' Youth A2 Gold team finished fourth at the High Performance Championships in Iowa.
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterwinner at Providence Catholic High School ... named his team's most valuable player in 2012 ... named to the All-Catholic League and Southtown Star All-Area team as a senior ... played for the Ultimate Volleyball Club that finished fifth at Junior Nationals in 2011 and fourth in 2012 ... a two-year letterwinner in basketball.
