2022: Earned Academic All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors …. played in 10 sets for the Cardinals … saw action against Tusculum (1/15/22), BYU (2/5/22), McKendree (2/12/22), Quincy (2/25/22), Lewis (4/2/22) and Loyola Chicago (4/7/22) … registered a season best seven kills against the Flyers (4/2/22) … had one service ace, 10 defensive digs and three total block for the season … helped the Cardinals win the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) regular season and tournament titles along with an automatic bye to the 2022 NCAA semifinal round.
2021: Played in 13 matches and 31 sets … registered a career best 16 kills against Lincoln Memorial (1/29/21) while hitting .438 percent off of 32 swings … had 10 digs versus Lindenwood (2/20/21) … stepped in and threw down eight kills at McKendree (4/3/21) … totaled 52 kills for the season.
2020: Appeared in six matches and 14 sets … made his career debut at George Mason and recorded five kills and five digs … season-high 10 kills in a sweep over Urbana … recorded eight kills in a win against Sacred Heart … finished the season with 25 kills, one ace, nine digs and three blocks … season was cut short due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Before Ball State: Attended Glenda Dawson High School … high school did not have a volleyball program, played club for HVA 181 Performance … finished 13th and 15th twice at the Boy’s Junior National Championships … named to the All-Tournament Team for the Boys Southwest Tour in 2016-17 … also earned three letters in varsity track.
Personal: Hometown is Pearland, Texas … parents are Marsha and Anthony Shepherd … has one brother, Quentin … plans to major in finance.
