NOTES: Helped the Ball State defense register 19 interceptions, which was the fifth best single-season mark in Ball State history . . . Tutored defensive back B.J. Hill, who earned All-Mid-American Conference Second-Team honors in 2007 . . . Coached Hill and Trey Lewis, who both tied for 40th in the nation in interceptions per game with a 0.38 mark . . . Tutored safety Erik Keys , who was named to the All-MAC Second Team in 2006 . . . Keys signed a free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans in the spring of 2007, after being named Ball State’s Most Valuable Player for the 2006 campaign . . . Helped Massachusetts rank first in the nation in scoring defense in NCAA IAA in 2005 . . . UMass also led the Atlantic 10 Conference in total defense, pass defense and pass defense efficiency . . . Tutored Shannon James, who was an all-conference first-team choice in 2005 and was the 2004 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year . . .
