Michael Dalton enters his first season as volunteer assistant coach for head coach Greg Beals at Ball State. Dalton, a graduate of Huntington, received his bachelor’s degree in education the summer of 2008.
Dalton, a native of Montpelier, was a four-year letterwinner at Huntington for coach Mike Frame. He played both third base and pitcher for the Foresters. He helped guide Huntington to a 33-14 record as a senior, including a 21-6 mark in the Mid-Central Conference. He guided the Foresters to the regular season and tournament championships as a senior before falling in the NAIA Regional.
Dalton was a three-year letterwinner at Blackford High School for coach Chris Landis. He was a two-time All-Central Indiana Conference selection and helped the Bruins to a 28-3 record as a senior, as well as a sectional title and a No. 1 ranking in the state. He also lettered in basketball and football, was team captain in both sports.
