• Left the program following the 2019 season
• 2019 Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete
• Suffered a career-ending injury in the Feb. 15 game versus Monmouth
2019 (Fr.): Received a medical redshirt ... Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American Scholar-Athlete … appeared in six games, making her first and only collegiate start versus Monmouth (Feb. 15) … opened the game with her first collegiate hit, a double to right-center field in the bottom of the third inning … scored her first collegiate run as part of a double steal later in the inning … injured in her second at bat of the game, spoiling what would have been her second career hit.
BARTLETT ON KIEFOR: Jessi fits our culture perfectly. She is a person who expects and achieves excellence in every area of her life. She's an elite level hitter, an Honors College admittee and very close to her family. Jessi is going to be a tremendous addition in every aspect.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned three letters in softball at Lake Central High School for coach Jeff Sherman … capped her career by earning the IHSAA Class 4A Mental Attitude Award after helping guide Lake Central to a runner-up finish at the state championships ... a .348 batter as a senior, she helped lead the Indians to a 29-5 overall record, including a 13-1 Duneland Athletic Conference mark ... she also earned Academic All-State and the Lake Central's Pride, Hustle and Desire Award her senior year ... named all-conference as a junior after batting .324 with 17 RBI and 28 runs scored … also named second team all-area, The Times Athlete of the Week and The Times Athlete of the Month as a junior.
CLUB: Has played club softball for the New Lenox Lightning … finished seventh at the 2017 16U PGF Premier Nationals.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Kenneth Kiefor and Melanie Bennitt ... born May 9, 2000 in Dyer, Indiana ... full name is Jessica Morgan Kiefor ... maintains a 4.00 grade point average as a psychological science major.
WHY BALL STATE: I chose Ball State because the campus is the perfect size and I am close to home, but far enough away to feel independent.
