Soccer to Host Eastern Michigan on Thursday and Travel to Akron on Sunday

The Ball State soccer team will host Eastern Michigan on Thursday before traveling for a road contest at Akron on Sunday for a pair of Mid-American Conference matchups.
The match vs the Eagles is set for 4 p.m., while Sunday's game at Akron is at 1 p.m. Both matches can be seen on ESPN+. Links to the broadcasts and live stats can be found above and on the schedule page.
The Cardinals (3-4-3, 0-1-2 MAC) most recently scored a 1-1 draw at Miami on Sunday. Ball State registered six shots, with Anna Kate Robillard putting one of the team's two shots on goal in the back of the net for her second goal of the season.
Eastern Michigan (4-1-4, 2-0-1 MAC) have won their last two conference matches, most recently beating Buffalo 2-0 on Sunday. The team also secured a 3-0 win over Central Michigan and a 0-0 draw at Bowling Green on Sept. 17.
The Eagles are in their third season under head coach Taylor Clarke and are currently tied for second in the conference with Western Michigan.
The Zips (5-4-1, 1-1-1 MAC) most recently captured a 1-0 victory over Ohio on Sunday. They also scored a 1-1 draw to Bowling Green on Sept. 20 and fell to Miami 2-1 on Sept. 17.
Akron is in its second season under the direction of head coach Maggie Kuhn. The Zips currently sit tied for fourth in the conference with a handful of teams after going 2-7-3 in the MAC in 2025.
Ball State's next match after this weekend is set for Oct. 10 against Bowling Green in Muncie.
ROBILLARD LEADS EFFORTS AGAINST MIAMI: Freshman Anna Kate Robillard booted a goal in the 62nd minute of Ball State's match on Sunday at Miami. This gave the Cardinals a 1-0 lead, but a Broncos goal evened the score at 1-1 for the eventual ending decision.
MATCHING UP WITH THE MAC: Thursday's contest will be the 30th meeting all-time between the Cardinals and the Eagles. Ball State leads the series 16-8-5, coming off a 1-0 victory in Ypsilanti last season on Oct. 9.
Sunday's contest will be the 26th meeting between Ball State and the Zips. The Cardinals lead the overall series 17-2-6, with Ball State coming off a 3-0 victory last season in Muncie on Oct. 12.
BACKLINE IS BACK: The Cardinals bring back plenty of experience in its back line as senior defenders Delaney Ahearn (46 starts at Ball State) and Audrey Goodyear (51) and sophomores Jordyn Klaasen (30) and Grier Isaacson (27) have been mainstays in the defensive backfield. Junior goalkeeper Kate Pallante returns after being the primary goalie in 2025.
BEATING EXPECTATIONS: Ball State was picked sixth in this year's MAC preseason coaches poll but significantly outperformed its preseason prognostication in 2025, finishing fourth in the final MAC standings after being picked 11th leading up to the campaign.
