MUNCIE, IND. - - For its second test of the 2026-27 season, the Ball State women's golf team will take on The Players Club at Woodland Trails for its annual Brittany Kelly Classic. The two-day event starts with 36 holes Monday on the 6,291-yard course and concludes with 18 more holes Tuesday.
The Cardinals are the three-time defending event champion, including a 13-stroke victory last season with a team score of 888 (+24). Dayton, who will also be in this year's field, finished second at 901 (+37).
Returning to the lineup from last year's event are junior Sophie Korthuijs and sophomore Skylar Dean. Korthuijs tied for third overall last season, shooting +3 (219), including shooting -1 (71) in each of her first two rounds. Dean made her collegiate debut at the event, tying for ninth overall at +10 (226), highlighted by a collegiate low round of +1 (73) in the second round.
Overall, all eight Cardinals will get to tee up in the 54-hole extravaganza, with freshman Taylor Larkins, Dean, Korthuijs, sophomore Ashley Kirkland and freshman Elizabeth Coleman representing the team.
Senior Jenna Estravillo, freshman Lexi Ray and senior JJ Gregston will compete as individuals. Last season's winner, in a playoff, came from Ball State's individual group with then-senior Sarah Gallagher sinking a 22-foot birdie putt on her fourth playoff hole to claim medalist honors.
Tee times, team pairings and starting hole locations for the 2026 Brittany Kelly Classic will be available Sunday.
