Softball Drops Series Finale at Miami

OXFORD, Ohio - - Sophomore shortstop Addison Zimpleman blasted her third home run of the season to tie the score at 1-1 in the top of the second in Ball State softball's series finale at Miami.

Unfortunately, the RedHawks (33-14, 14-7 Mid-American Conference) responded with eight runs over the final three innings to secure a 9-1 (5) victory over the Cardinals (17-25; 4-17 MAC).

Zimpleman provided two of Ball State's four hits in Saturday's series finale at the Miami Softball Stadium, adding a single through the left side to open the fourth.Â
Â
BSU's other two hits were a third inning double from senior right fielder Hayley Urban and a fifth-inning single from sophomore left fielder Jordyn Thurman.Â

The Ball State softball team closes the home portion of its 2026 slate next weekend with a three-game series versus Kent State. The teams are currently scheduled to play a 3 p.m. game Friday and a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday at the Ball State Softball Stadium.
