Men’s Tennis Set for Road Clash at Michigan Saturday
February 20, 2026 | Men's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (4-4) continues its spring campaign this Saturday, Feb. 21, with a non-conference road match against the University of Michigan (3-4). First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET at the Varsity Tennis Center.
"Great opportunity for our team to play a national ranked team on the road," Ball State head men's tennis coach Gene Orlando said. "This will be a big test, but we have put in the work we are super hungry and looking to bounce back after a tough loss last weekend."
The Cardinals head to Ann Arbor looking to bounce back from a narrow 4-3 "heartbreaker" loss to in-state rival IU Indy last Friday. Despite losing the doubles point in that contest, Ball State saw strong singles performances from Jacks Lancaster, who won in straight sets at the No. 1 position, and Broc Fletcher, who secured a three-set victory at No. 6.
Michigan enters the weekend on a two-match winning streak, most recently defeating Western Michigan 4-3. The Wolverines are led by Max Dahlin, currently ranked No. 8 in the nation in singles, who carries a four-match winning streak into Saturday's competition.
Michigan holds an undefeated 14-0 all-time series record against Ball State. The two programs last met in January 2025, where the Wolverines claimed a 7-0 victory.
Following Saturday's match, the Cardinals will travel to La Jolla, California, for the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship beginning Feb. 26. Ball State will also compete in two separate dual matches against Pacific on (Feb. 26) and Villanova (Mar. 1).
