Women’s Tennis Earns ITA Academic Team Honors for the 25th Time in Program History

MUNCIE, Ind. - For the 25th time in 29 seasons, the Ball State women's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team, after earning a 3.5 on Ball State's 4.0 scale.
In addition, seven members of the squad received individual ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades — Chloe Brown (3.5), Sydney Hrehor (3.6), Ella Hazelbaker (3.7), Sarah Shahbaz (3.8), Alana Bristow (3.9), Jemima Williams-Phillips (3.9) and Isabel Tanjuatco (3.9). This marks the fourth time for Hazelbaker to earn the award and the second for Hrehor, Shahbaz and Tanjuatco.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale). All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2024 and spring 2025).
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior
