Beebe's Foot Stompers
June 25, 2025 | Football
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Conceptualizing his idea in September of 2024, Ball State redshirt senior linebacker Jack Beebe used his creative mind and took inspiration from a deep dive of YouTube videos to spark his crafty endeavor of rug tufting: a technique used to create rugs by injecting yarn into a backing material with a tufting gun.
After a series of trial and error, Beebe learned quickly and established his Foot Stompers brand within a month, advertising and taking orders through the brand's Instagram, X and TikTok accounts.
Since opening shop, the redshirt-senior linebacker's rug-making business created a buzz around the Cardinals' locker room, with teammates such as Kiael Kelly, Tristan Cook, Christian Abney and Cole Earlewine being some of the first to request and receive rugs of their own. Not long after, the Foot Stompers brand's notoriety spread quickly across Ball State's athletic programs.
Creating anything from player portraits, team logos, pets, or one's favorite video game or television character, Beebe expanded his reach, sending custom rugs to sports influencers including at Barstool Sports.
"I love Barstool a lot," Beebe stated. "I've made [a rug] for almost all the staff there."
One man who had great appreciation for his gifted rug was Super Bowl champion head coach and current Barstool personality Jon Gruden, who unexpectedly posted an unboxing video, now viral, last week on his XÂ account. Beebe was unaware of the post until receiving a text from former Ball State teammate and tight end Tanner Koziol. The rug was customized to honor Gruden's Fired Football Coaches Association.
"[Gruden] is someone I admire a lot, so it was awesome to see," Beebe expressed about his reaction to Gruden's video.
