Women’s Tennis Welcomes Asia Fontana to the 2025-26 Roster

MUNCIE, Ind. - Third-year head coach Sachin Kirtane has announced that Austin Peay transfer Asia Fontana will join the Cardinals' 2025-26 roster.
"I am extremely grateful to coach Kirtane for this opportunity, and I am so excited to join Ball State," Fontana said. "I can't wait to compete and give my best to the team."
A three-year letter winner with the Governors, in just two seasons Fontana started playing at No. 6 singles her freshman year and then worked her way to the No. 3 slot as a junior. Fontana not only found success in singles but also in doubles clinching a multitude of matches over her three-year tenure at Austin Peay.
This past season, Fontana had an eight-match win streak in doubles defeating such teams as Forman and University of Alabama Birmingham. Some of her top career victories came against Xavier, UAB, Middle Tennessee State University and Louisville.
A native of Laredo, Italy, Fontana attended Iti Enrico Fermi-Desio High School where she finished her prep career with an Italian Tennis Ranking of 2.5.
