Field Hockey Releases 2025 Schedule
April 07, 2025 | Field Hockey
MUNCIE, Ind. – As third-year head coach Caitlin Walsh continues to build the Ball State field hockey program, the team has a lot to look forward to with its release of the 2025 schedule.
This year's non-conference schedule is packed full of some highly competitive opponents from the Big Ten, ACC and A-10 conferences. The Cardinals will start the season with an exhibition contest against Indiana on August 14 at 3 pm ET at the Briner Sports Complex.
"We are extremely excited about our upcoming fall schedule," Walsh said. "With the addition of JMU and now UMass into the Mid-American Conference, our league schedule remains competitive. Outside of our MAC schedule we will face some top Big Ten and A-10 opponents. We are also slated to head to California where we will take on Cal, Stanford and UC Davis."
Ball State will then host Big Ten foe Ohio State for its season opener on August 29 beginning at 4 pm ET. Following that game, the Cardinals will remain home when it faces Saint Louis on August 31 at noon.
The Cardinals finally hit the road in September with three games in the Golden State as Ball State battles Stanford (Sept. 4), UC Davis (Sept. 5) and California (Sept. 7).
After that, the Cardinals return home for matchups against St. Francis (Sept. 12) and Lock Haven (Sept. 14) before opening its Mid-American Conference season at Longwood at 2 pm ET on Sept. 19. Ball State will also play a non-conference game versus Virginia Commonwealth while on the east coast at VCU on Sept. 21.
Ball State returns home to close out the month of September hosting league members Central Michigan (Sept. 26) and Kent State (Sept. 28).
The month of October will have the Cardinals traveling to six different locations, starting off at James Madison (Oct. 3), Richmond (Oct. 5), Ohio (Oct. 10), Michigan State (Oct. 14), Miami (Oct. 19) and Mass (Oct. 31). Ball State will host only two games in October, Bellarmine (Oct. 17) and App State (Oct. 24).
Following their regular season finale on Halloween in Massachusetts, the MAC Tournament will be held on the campus of JMU this season from Nov. 5 to Nov. 8.
