
Track and Field Opens Outdoor Season at TCU Alumni Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State track and field will open the outdoor season Friday (Mar. 21) in Fort Worth, Texas for the TCU Alumni Invite hosted by Texas Christian University.Â
Last Time Out:Â
As a team, the Cardinals closed the indoor season tied for fourth alongside Kent State with 70.5 points. Jenelle Rogers secured her second consecutive MAC Championship title in the pentathlon after winning the event with a score of 3,998.Â
Rogers went on to compete in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships (Mar. 14) in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Earlier in the season, Rogers's winning pentathlon score of 4,188 points from the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite (Jan. 31) qualified the multis athlete for the NCAA Championships as the 14th-ranked scorer. She finished the championships seventh overall, earning her fourth All-American title and concluding her time as a Ball State student athlete.Â

Following the TCU Alumni Invite, the Cardinals' distance team will prepare to head to Washington University's Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Missouri. The meet will begin Thursday, Mar. 27 and go through Friday, Mar. 28.Â
