Men’s Tennis Suffers Road Loss at UIC Saturday
March 15, 2025 | Men's Tennis
CHICAGO, Ill. - The Ball State men's tennis team (9-6, 2-2 MAC) suffered a 6-1 setback at Illinois-Chicago (12-2, 3-0 MAC) Saturday afternoon at the XS Tennis Village.
The Cardinals got off to a hot start by winning the doubles point over the Flames. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Mason Tran and Jacks Lancaster along with the Cardinals' No. 3 duo of Sajin Smith and Ian Brady each defeated their respective opponents by a 7-5 decision.
Unfortunately, the Flames made a comeback in singles action taking all six courts from the Cardinals. Three of the six courts were lost in three set thrillers, including Lancaster at No. 2 singles, Tran on court No. 3 and Brady at the No. 6 spot.
The Ball State men's tennis team will play one match next weekend in Mid-American Conference action when it faces Western Michigan in Kalamazoo Saturday, March 22. First serve is at 1 pm ET at either Sorensen Courts (Outdoors) or West Hills Athletic Club (Indoors).
