Men’s Tennis Earns 6-1 Road Win at NIU in #MACtion

DEKALB, Ill. - The Ball State men's tennis team (9-5, 2-1 MAC) dominated play at Northern Illinois (7-8, 0-2 MAC) Thursday afternoon defeating the Huskies by a score of 6-1 at the Sycamore High School Courts.
After dropping No. 1 doubles to Northern Illinois, the Cardinals game back to take the No. 2 and No. 3 spots for the first lead of the match, 1-0. Andrew Hayward alongside Nathaniel Webster captured a 6-3 defeat over NIU's Sam Klein and Saul Berdullas. The deciding point came down to Ian Brady and Sajin Smith on court No. 3. The BSU duo beat Iker Gaztambide Arrastia and Pratyaksh Lnu also by a 6-3 decision.
In singles, the Cardinals cruised past the Huskies taking five of the six courts. Brady carried his doubles success into singles by clinching match point for the Cardinals. Brady won in straight sets over the Huskies' No. 6 singles player by a score of 6-1, 7-5.
Jacks Lancaster, Mason Tran, Sajin Smith and Drew Hayward also were straight frame winners on their respective courts.
