ESPN+ Pivots Tuesday Coverage to Carry Potentially Historic Baseball Game for Coach Rich Maloney
March 10, 2025 | Baseball
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Due to the cancelation of Ball State's originally scheduled softball home opener on Tuesday, March 11, ESPN+ has changed its broadcast schedule in order to carry the hopeful 1,000th career win by Ball State baseball coach Rich Maloney. The baseball Cardinals, who swept a three-game series over Western Michigan last weekend, host a potentially historic game Tuesday afternoon against Purdue Fort Wayne at 3 p.m.
Live viewing on Tuesday is available on the ESPN app, or by following viewing links on the Ball State schedule page.Â
Maloney, in his 30th year as a head coach and his 20th season at Ball State, currently sits at 999 career wins, all at the Division I level. He is due to become the 10th active Division I coach with 1,000 wins, and one of just six to top the plateau at exclusively Division I programs.
The Cardinals (11-5) have won five straight games, most recently sweeping WMU, Maloney's alma mater, at the newly-named Shebek Stadium.
