
Women's S&D Falls to Ohio in Close Contest

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving program hosted the Ohio Bobcats at the Lewellen Aquatic Center, posting eight event wins and 21 individual top three placements. In a tightly contested battle, the women fell just short to Ohio, 152-148.
Payton Kelly enjoyed two first place finishes in both the 100 backstroke (54.41) and 100 freestyle (50.29), setting two Lewellen Pool records. Kelly also contributed as anchor for the first place 200 medley relay team, joining Ava Butterfield, Maya McDonald and Anna Keen to combine for a winning time of 1:43.86 to kick off the meet. Kelly has already tallied six individual event wins so far in the 2025-26 season.
Freshman Addy Czarnecki took first in the longest event of the day, touching the wall first with a time of 10:28.79 in the 1000 freestyle to earn her second win in that event this year.
Addie Beasley was the next freshman to capture first, swimming her best time of the season in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.23) and earning her second win of the year in the event.
Capping off the freshman success was Milagros Amione who posted a winning time of 2:04.96 in the 200 individual medley, her second of the year. Amione also earned second in the 200 freestyle (1:53.51). Her winning time in the 200 IM tops her own sixth-best time in program history by 0.02.
The women saw four more individual second place finishes against the Bobcats, with Alexa Von Holtz finishing in the 200 butterfly (2:04.21), McDonald finishing in the 200 breaststroke (2:24.12), and Keen finishing in both the 50 freestyle (23.48) and 100 butterfly (53.97).
Grace Walker completed her second-straight sweep of the boards, scoring 298.65 on the 3-meter board and 273.90 on the 1-meter. Walker's score on the 3M puts her 10th in program history.
The Ball State women's swimming and diving squad returns to the Lewellen Aquatic Center tomorrow afternoon (Nov. 8), joining the men to host Bellarmine. The meet serves as a red out, with fans encourage to dress in red and pack the Lewellen Aquatic Center to cheer on the Cardinals. Events begin at 1 p.m. ET and can be followed along on Meet Mobile.
