Women's S&D Prepares for a Pair of Weekend Meets
November 05, 2025 | Women's Swimming and Diving
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving program opens home action with a pair of dual meets this weekend, hosting the Ohio Bobcats Nov. 7 and Bellarmine Nov. 8 inside the Lewellen Aquatic Center. Competition versus Ohio begins at 5 p.m. ET, and action versus Bellarmine starts at 1 p.m. ET.
Saturday's competition versus Bellarmine will serve as a red out for the Cardinals, with fans encouraged to pack the Lewellen Aquatic Center to support the men's and women's squads as they battle the Knights.
The women enter this weekend after a dominating victory over Toledo, winning 15 of the meet's 16 events to defeat to Rockets 221-78 (Oct. 25). Payton Kelly, Anna Keen and Addy Czarnecki captured two individual event wins each, crediting the Cardinals with success in freestyle, backstroke and butterfly events. Graduate diver Grace Walker also completed a sweep of the diving boards that afternoon.
When Ball State last met the Bobcats in dual action in early January of the 2023-24 campaign, the squad saw its first dual loss of that year, dropping a 219-81 decision. Alexa Von Holtz took first in the 200 butterfly (2:02.53) and Kelly took top billing in the 50 freestyle (23.53).
Ohio comes to Muncie after picking up two wins against Buffalo and Marshall as part of its season-opening tri-meet a The Ohio University Aquatic Center (Oct. 24-25).
Ball State picked up a 131.5-71.5 victory at Bellarmine last season (Nov. 23), tallying wins in eight out of 11 events. The Knights turned in an impressive performance in its home opener Nov. 3 versus Southern Indiana and Butler, besting the Screaming Eagles 129-73 but falling just short at 108-96 to the Bulldogs.
