Opening Tip:
This will mark the seventh meeting all-time between Pitt and Ball State with the Panthers leading the all-time series record 4-2. The Cardinals have won their last two contests against the Panthers, beating Pitt by a score of 73-62 on Dec. 19, 2023 and then in overtime by a 68-66 ledger on Dec. 11, 2022. This will be the first-ever meeting between Ball State and Alabama A&M.

Rebound that Basketball:
The Cardinals have been strong on the boards so far this season. Ball State is outpacing its opponents on the board 48.8 to 36.2. Defensively, the Cardinals have totaled 208 rebounds this season. The Cardinals pulled down 52 rebounds versus Arkansas State and then almost matched that same performance with 49 at IU Indy. Bree Salenbien leads the Cardinals averaging 10.8. rpg a contest.
Salenbien MAC POW Again:
Senior transfer Bree Salenbien has been tabbed the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. Salenbien turned in a career high performance last Thursday night after tallying 26 points against the Cincinnati Bearcats. Salenbien also pulled down 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
International Success:
The Cardinals have had plenty of international success under 14th year head coach Brady Sallee. We all remember Nathalie Fontaine the 6-2 guard from Stockholm, Sweden became Ball State's all-time leading scorer with 2,166 points. The 2016 MAC Player of the Year and AP honorable mention averaged 21.0 points per game and 10.2 rebounds while making over 50 percent of her shots. After Fontaine was Carmen Grande a native from Madrid, Spain who held onto the all-time assists record with 697 until Ally Becki surpassed her last season with 721 and we also cannot forget Thelma Dis Agustsdottir from Keflavik, Iceland who holds the all-time 3-point record with 325 treys. Agustsdottir also competed at the Celsius 3-point championship at the NCAA Tournament.

The Cardinals are third in the nation in the defensive rebound category (34.7) and seventh in rebounds per game (48.83). Ball State is tied with 42 teams in the nation that have only suffered one loss this season.
