Women’s Volleyball Falls in Saturday Action to Ohio
October 25, 2025 | Women's Volleyball
MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State women's volleyball team saw its 10-match winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-19) setback to Ohio at Worthen Arena.
While it was the Cardinals' (14-9; 10-1 Mid-American Conference) first league loss of the season, Ball State currently maintain a two-match lead in the overall league standings with the next-best team currently at three losses.
After dropping the first two sets for a second straight contest, the Cardinals battled to an 11-11 tie in the third after a kill from graduate outside Noelle VanOort. Unfortunately, the Bobcats (8-15; 6-5 MAC) countered with the next seven points and never looked back.
Sophomore outside Carson Tyler led the Ball State attack with nine kills, but the Cardinals were never able to find a rhythm and finished the match hitting just .141 (28-14-99). Junior middle Camryn Wise also turned in a strong effort, smashing six kills and hitting a team-best .385 (6-1-13).
Tyler also led the Ball State backcourt with six digs, while sophomore libero Sophie Ledbetter added five. Junior middle Gwen Crulladded a team-high three total blocks.
Ohio, on the other hand, hit a season-best .406 (55-14-101) led by 11 kills and a .444 (11-7-18) attack percentage from Bailey Blair. OU's Kendall Hickey and Gentry Brown tied for match-high honors with 11 digs apiece.
It will be a quick turnaround for the Cardinals, as it welcomes Miami to Worthen Arena for Silent Set Night Tuesday. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
