Kuntz Named MAC Men's Golfer of the Week

For his play at the Bryan National Collegiate, Ball State senior Braxton Kuntz has been named the Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week.

In his final round, Kuntz shot sub-par golf for the third straight day and tangled with tournament leaders all the way through the final hole, finishing in a third-place tie with Valparaiso's Anthony Delisanti.

Kuntz and Delisanti both fired 2-under-par rounds of 70 during their final trip along the 7,276-yard track at Bryan Park near Greensboro, finishing at 210 for the tournament – one shot behind Markus Lam of Boston College, and two strokes behind champion Kelvin Hernandez from UNC Greensboro.Â

Kuntz shot -6 (210): 71-69-70 over the three-day event that marked the opening of the fall season for Ball State. He was in seventh place following round one, rose into contention during round two, and was as high as second place during parts of Tuesday's final round.
