Lancaster Voted to All-MAC Tourney Team
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Four Ball State men's tennis players have earned All-Mid-American Conference honors. Senior Eli Herran and junior Nathaniel Webster were tabbed to the second all-conference teams while Vince Orlando was voted to receive the Jack Vredevelt Sportsmanship Award. Last weekend, Lancaster earned All-MAC Tournament team honors.Â
Â
This is the third-straight season Webster has earned postseason honors and second for Herran. Webster played at the No. 1 singles and doubles position this year. Herran primarily played at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions along with competing at the No. 3 slot in doubles. Herran led the Cardinals this season with a 14-5 dual mark and a 7-3 MAC ledger. Herran and his doubles partner Sajin Smith also led the team in doubles victories with a 7-6 overall record while going 6-4 in league play.Â
Â
Orlando was recognized with the Jack Vredevelt Sportsmanship Award, an annual honor presented to a MAC senior who has displayed outstanding sportsmanship throughout his career. The last time a Cardinal received the award was Andrew Stutz in 2017. Since its inception in 1995 five Cardinals have earned the honor.Â
Â
After the MAC Tournament concluded last weekend, Lancaster was voted to the All-MAC Tournament team for the first time in his career. Lancaster finished the year with a 10-4 overall mark and a 7-3 conference record playing primarily at the No. 5 singles position. Lancaster also found success alongside doubles partner Mason Tran on court No. 2 as the twosome defeated Western Michigan in doubles last Saturday in the MAC Tourney semifinals. Lancaster also won in straight sets in singles play versus the Broncos.Â

The Ball State men's tennis team finished the season with an overall mark of 12-10 and a 6-4 MAC record.
