
Softball Announces 2025 Schedule

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Despite being slated to play 22 of its first 23 games on the road this coming season, the 2025 Ball State softball schedule is highlighted by 15 home games according to second-year head coach Helen Peña.

After starting the season with tournaments at Cal Poly (Feb. 6-8), Charlotte (Feb. 21-23), Middle Tennessee (Feb. 28-March 2) and Bellarmine (March 7-9), the Cardinals will play its first home game of the season Tuesday, March 11 versus Purdue Fort Wayne.

Following the showdown with the Mastodons, Ball State's first of four non-conference games versus in-state foes, the Cardinals will open Mid-American Conference play with a three-game weekend series at Akron (March 14-15).

Ball State's home MAC schedule includes three-game weekend series versus Toledo (March 21-22), Miami (April 11-12), Buffalo (April 25-26) and Central Michigan (May 3-4). BSU will also host Northern Illinois for a league doubleheader on April 1.

The Cardinals' MAC road foes include three-game sets versus the Zips, Bowling Green (March 28-29) and Kent State (April 5-6), along with twinbills at Western Michigan (April 15) and Ohio (April 29).

In non-conference action, Ball State is slated to travel to Butler (March 18), Indiana State (March 25) and Indiana (April 23) to round out its current 50-game slate.

The Mid-American Conference Softball Championship returns to Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio, May 7-10, with the league's top six teams qualifying for the event. The winner earns the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division I Softball Championship which begins with regional play (May 16-18).
