Nasser Finishes Fourth at Forest Hills Individual Golf Event

RICHMOND, Ind. -- Ball State junior Colin Nasser fired a 1-under par 69 on Friday afternoon in the second round of The Indy at Forest Hills, to finish in a fourth-place tie in the event with Colten Girgis of IU Indy. Nasser (71-69--140) shot 1-over 71 in the first round and shaved two strokes on his second trip around the par-70 layout. Nasser and Girgis finished two strokes behind IU Indy's Damian Rij (138) in third place.

Nasser was one of three Cardinals men's golfers to compete in the individual event, with Drew Todd (71-72--143) finishing in a 12th-place tie and Griffin Hare (71-74--145) in 21st out of 52 competitors. Nasser, from Zionsville, fired four birdies in each round of 18 holes, but shot par or better on 15 of 18 holes to finish under par in the second round.

"The Indy at Forest Hills was another great opportunity to get our roster involved and competing," said veteran Ball State head coach Mike Fleck. "We had three solid rounds in the morning from Colin, Griffin and Drew, and Colin backed it up in the afternoon with a solid under-par score. These individual events are important to get guys on the road playing away from home. As coaches we look for that competitive push up the roster and hopefully we see more of that as we move through the year."

The Cardinals resume their team schedule Oct. 14-15 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
