
Round Two Suspended for Men’s Golf at ’23 GolfWeek Kickoff

Carter Smith leads the charge for Ball State tied for fourth
COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Ball State men's golf team had to suspend play in round two of the '23 GolfWeek Kickoff hosted by the University of Missouri today due to inclement weather.
With about two holes remaining for the 12-team field, the Cardinals will start back up and resume play tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. ET. Ball State will then finish its last 18 holes approximately at 9:30 a.m. ET at the Dalhousie Golf Club.
Currently the Cardinals sit in fourth place with a score of -6 as a team. Carter Smith leads the charge for Ball State tied for fourth after almost two rounds of play after shooting 69 (-3) in his first round and sits at -2 so far in round two. Smith recorded 10 birdies on the day and had one eagle.
In addition, Griffin Hare who is tied for eighth had a first round score of 69 (-3) and Braxton Kuntz who made his Ball State debut shot a 70 (-2).
As a team, the Cardinals finished the day with 32 birdies and an eagle.
The Ball State men's golf team continues action at the '23 GolfWeek Kickoff Tuesday before heading home to host its annual Earl Yestingsmeir Invitational (Sept. 9-10) at the Delaware Country Club.
