MUNCIE, Ind. – Announcing a broadcasting change that reflects market trends, Ball State Athletics has announced that radio coverage of all Cardinal football games, and men's and women's basketball games, will be broadcast this season with local partner Woof Boom Radio – WMUN 1340 AM and 92.5 FM.
Besides carrying Cardinals games on each of WMUN's AM and FM frequencies, the three-year agreement between Ball State Athletics and Woof Boom offers Cardinal fans a great many more options to hear games in the car, in the office, tailgating or from the comforts of their home – in Muncie and throughout Indiana and beyond.
Live broadcast of Cardinal games can be heard on BallStateSports.com, the Ball State Sports mobile app, Learfield Sports' Varsity Network app and the WMUN Muncie app. Select games will also be available Sirius XM Radio.
"Carrying Ball State sports on the Woof Boom Radio stations is a privilege," said J Chapman, president of Woof Boom Radio. "We hold BSU Athletics in the highest regard and greatly value our association with the University."
"Delivering our live signal to Ball State fans is always our top priority in any radio agreement, and Woof Boom has presented us with a partnership that embraces modern-day technology while preserving the benefits of traditional radio," said Director of Athletics Jeff Mitchell. "We believe our broadcasts will provide fans the best of local radio while also unlocking the benefits of streaming Ball State sports nationally."
Ball State will make its Woof Boom debut next weekend when the football Cardinals do battle at Kentucky with play-by-play voice Mick Tidrow calling the action alongside analyst and former All-SEC linebacker Haven Fields, Ball State's deputy athletic director.
