July 31, 2023 | Men's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. - The 2022-23 Ball State men's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team after earning a 3.5 grade point average on Ball State's 4.0 scale. This marks the 11th straight year the Cardinals have earned the team honor.
In addition, six members of the squad received individual ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades — sophomore Broc Fletcher (3.7), senior Eli Herran (3.8), freshman Jacks Lancaster (3.6), senior Vince Orlando (3.9), sophomore Nathaniel Webster (3.8) and senior Abe Wojtalik (3.932). Herran, Orlando and Wojtalik have received the honor four times.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale). All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2022 and spring 2023).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
