Bellar Finishes at 5-Over-Par at Prestigious Southeastern Amateur

Bellar's first round featured four straight birdies to open the tournament and an event-leading card of 31 through nine holes. His 64 after the first 18 holes was matched by only two other competitors the entire week -- Logan Hunter of Mississippi State who won the championship (64-62-73-199) and Tucker Allen of North Texas (64-66-72-201) who finished third.

The only golfer representing a Mid-American Conference school in a sea of Southeastern Conference stars, Bellar managed a 6-over (76) second round on Friday, and a 5-over (75) final round on Saturday. Out of 81 competitors, he finished in a four-way tie for 44th place.

The 94th Southeastern Amateur is a 54-hole tournament conducted this week as one of the country's top amateur events. The tournament was first established in 1922.
