Bennett Earns Spot on Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its annual Academic All-MAC team on Thursday. Payton Bennett was the lone Ball State golfer to earn the Academic All-MAC accolade.
Bennett earned her first Academic All-MAC honor in her first year of eligibility for the recognition. She is majoring in sport administration and has achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA in the process. This season, she recorded a season-low round of 74 at the Spring Break Shootout on March 13. She tied for 26th at the Butler Fall Invitational for her best finish of the season.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must own a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and participate in at least 50 percent of their team's events. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
