Men's Golf Completes Day One of MAC Championships

ATHENS, Ala. – The Ball State men's golf team wrapped up day one of the Mid-American Conference Championships today after being paired with Miami and Bowling Green for round one.

Leading the Cardinals today was Griffin Hare. Hare finished the round at 1-over and sits tied for 11th place individually. Hare tallied four birdies throughout the round.

Joey Ranieri finished round one at 2-over. He is tied for 17th place in the standings heading into tomorrow's round. Kash Bellar and Carter Smith finished at 4-over and are tied for 31st. Smith notched a birdie on the par-5, 569-yard hole no.12. Ali Khan finished the day at 8-over, and is tied for 43rd place after round one.

The Cardinals are in eighth place in the team standings after round one. Everything is still up for grabs as the playing field is tight across the board. An eight-stroke gap separates first-place Central Michigan and Ball State.
