Men's Golf Finishes Day One of Fighting Illini Spring Collegiate

URBANA, Ill. – The Ball State men's golf team completed rounds one and two of the Fighting Illini Spring Collegiate in third place after being paired with Nebraska and Eastern Michigan.
The Cardinals battled hard throughout two rounds despite facing the toughest weather and course conditions of the season.Â

Leading the Cardinals on day one was Joey Ranieri. He finished round one at 4-over (75), but Ranieri played his best round in round two, finishing round two at 1-under (70). He ended the day tied for seventh place individually.

Ali Khan finished day tied for 27th place, finishing round one at 3-over (74) and round two at 6-over (77). Griffin Hare ended round two tied for 30th place. He finished 10-over on the day (81).

Carter Smith ended the day tied for 38th, playing his best round in round two where he finished at 1-under (70). Kash Bellar finished tied for 42nd, finishing at 8-over in round one (79) and 4-over in round two (75).

Competing as an individual was Evan Bone, finishing tied for 42nd place at 13-over. Also competing as an individual was Carson Orr who ended the day tied for 49th place.
