Pearson Named to Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced the 2022-23 Men's Basketball Academic All-MAC Team on Tuesday. The Ball State men's basketball team was represented by Mickey Pearson Jr.
Pearson finished the season averaging 7.7 points per game. He was second on the team with 5.5 boards per game. He dropped a career-high 20 points at Eastern Illinois on Dec. 7. He grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds against Earlham on Nov. 7. He posted a field-goal percentage of 49.7 and was 32.6 percent from 3-point range. He excelled in the classroom and has a 3.55 GPA and is pursuing a degree in sociology.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
