MVB Dominates Lindenwood with 3-0 Sweep Saturday in Worthen Arena

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's volleyball team (14-8, 7-3 MIVA) was back again inside Worthen Arena Saturday in a Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association showdown that saw the Cardinals earn a 3-0 sweep over the Lindenwood Lions (9-9, 6-4 MIVA).Â

Tinaishe Ndavazocheva led the Cardinals' charge offensively with 16 kills. Defensively, Felix Egharevba turned in two block solos and four block assists.Â

As a team, Ball State hit a staggering .522 from the floor after throwing down 44 kills off 69 swings.Â

Ball State jumped out to an early 9-4 advantage in the opening set. Lindenwood rallied back to come within two points (21-19) late in the frame. It didn't last long though, as the combination of strong serves from Dyer Ball and a few kills from Ndavazocheva helped move the Cardinals past the Lions, 25-19.

The second frame was closer than the first which saw four ties and two lead changes. The set was tied 12-12 but Ndavazocheva served up three-straight points which helped BSU finally pull away from Lindenwood. After that, the Cardinals led the remainder of set two and would win 25-18 off a Ndavazocheva's service ace.Â

Ball State continued its dominance in the third and final set. Defensively, the Cardinals played well in frame three with some spectacular defensive plays along with hitting .652 from the floor which helped seal the tonight's 3-0 sweep for BSU.Â
