Women’s Tennis Extends Win Streak to 11; Defeats Buffalo 6-1

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team won its 11-straight match after defeating Buffalo 6-1 Friday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA.
With the win, the Cardinals have improved their overall ledger to 13-2 while remaining undefeated in MAC play with a 2-0 mark while the Bulls fall to 15-4 for the year and 1-1 in conference action.
Amy Kaplan alongside doubles partner Annika Planinsek breezed through their doubles match on court No. 2. The duo earned a dominating 6-1 victory versus Buffalo's Deanne Choo and Azra Deniz Comlek. Jessica Braun and Emily Desai battled at No. 3 doubles and found themselves knotted 3-3 in the match. Braun and Desai used strong plays at the net to clinch the doubles point for BSU with their 6-4 win against Gabrielle Akoyan and Basak Akbas.
The Cardinals continued their success in singles play taking five of the six courts from the Bulls. Elena Malykh claimed match point for Ball State after beating Akoyan in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues Mid-American Conference play when it travels to Toledo for a 1 pm ET first serve at Twos Athletic Club (indoors) or if weather permits outside at UT Varsity Tennis Courts.
