
Cardinals Fall to Nebraska in 4-0 Loss

LAJOLLA, Calif. – The Ball State men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss to Big Ten opponent Nebraska.
Nebraska won the doubles point with a 6-3 victory over the Cardinals' No.1 pair of Vince Orlando and Nathaniel Webster, and with a 6-1 victory over Danilo Kovacevic and Parrish Simmons.
The Huskers held the 1-0 advantage over the Cardinals going into singles play. Nebraska's Roni Hietaranta defeated Vince Orlando at the No.2 position 6-1 and 6-2, expanding their lead to 2-0. Jacks Lancaster fell to Nebraska's Nic Wiedenhorn at the No. 6 position 6-1 and 6-1. Sajin Smith dropped two sets in the No. 2 slot to William Gleason, 6-1 and 6-2, and the Huskers finished with a 4-0 victory.
The Cardinals continue their play at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship and will return to dual action March 11 at 1:00 p.m. ET at home against Toledo for its Mid-American Conference opener.
