
Men’s Tennis Suffers 4-2 Setback to Rival Western Michigan in MACtion Friday

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (8-6, 0-2 MAC) dropped another highly competitive battle against Mid-American Conference rival Western Michigan (7-6, 3-0 MAC) Friday afternoon at the Northwest YMCA.
It was a heated doubles competition which was to be expected between these two rivalry teams. The Cardinals had leads on courts two and three but fell behind early at the No. 1 spot, losing the match to the Broncos. After WMU had taken an early lead edge over BSU, Parrish Simmons and Jacks Lancaster answered back with a 6-4 victory over WMU's No. 3 doubles tandem Arjun Honnappa and Brogan Pierce.
With doubles play evened, the first point of the match would come down to court No. 2 which saw Vince Orlando and Eli Herran take down Fynn Lohse and Anton Arzhankin by a score of 6-4 which claimed the doubles point for the Cardinals.
In singles, the Broncos took five of the six courts from the Cardinals. The lone winner in singles for Ball State was Nathaniel Webster on the top court who defeated Peter Kuszynski, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
The Ball State men's tennis team will continue MAC action at home when it hosts Northern Illinois Sunday at 1 pm at the Northwest YMCA.
