
Cardinals Set to Begin Outdoor Season in Oxford

OXFORD, Ohio – The Ball State track and field team begins their outdoor season on Friday, March 17 at the Blizzard Buster in Oxford, Ohio.

The Cardinals are heading into their outdoor season following a second-place finish at the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, scoring 83 points, and tallying the highest finish since the Cardinals took second in 2006.

The Cardinals collected several post-season awards. Three Cardinals earned All-MAC honors following the 2022-23 indoor season, including Charity Griffith (first team), Kayla Jones (first team), and Jenelle Rogers (second team).

Freshman Alana Springer was named the MAC Freshman Track Performer of the Year following the conference championships, and Griffith was named the MAC Indoor Championship's Most Valuable Performer. Ball State Assistant Coach Matt Bigelow was named the MAC Women's Assistant Coach of the Year.

The Blizzard Buster is slated for 9:00 a.m. EST beginning with the field events. The running events are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., opening with the 5000m and closing with the 4x400m relay at 4:20 p.m.
